The Academy
What is Eskrido?   Training-vsTeaching
Serrada Eskrido is a martial art that has been developed for over 20 years, and is always adapting to today’s environment. It addresses multitude of situations and environments. The core of the Academy is Philippine martial arts that transcends into Serrada Eskrido. It seamlessly merges the martial arts of the Philippines with other martial arts such as Aikido, Jujitsu, Judo and many other arts as well.

One of the main goals of the Serrada Eskrido Academy is to perfect practical application fighting techniques. This covers all fighting distances from long range to grappling, and single to multiple attackers. Each individual practitioner uniquely adapts these techniques to their abilities. No person is created the same as another physically and mentally, and the training allows for these differences. This allows the practitioner to flow with a technique, not force a technique. At advanced levels training becomes a "Dance" of techniques and counters.

The Serrada Eskrido Academy has been in development as a system for more than 20 years and continues to evolve into one of the most comprehensive fighting styles available. The system covers empty hand and weapons training (i.e. weapon vs. weapon, empty hand vs. weapon), trapping, locking and pining, even police training. Through the diligence of the Instructors and Black belts of the Academy, Serrada Eskrido has incorporated many martial arts styles into its system including Philippino, Japanese, Indonesian, and Chinese styles.
